The widow of artist Walter Meyer has been convicted of his murder.

The widow of famous landscape painter Walter Meyer was convicted of her murder by the Magistrates’ Court in Upington in the Northern Cape.
National Prosecution Authority (NPA) spokesperson Mojalefa Senokoatsane said the court found Meyer’s widow Sophia guilty of his murder on Wednesday.

He said the case has been postponed until November 15 for sentencing.
Meyer’s widow was arrested in connection with her murder in Upington, Northern Cape.
Meyer, 52, was stabbed in the chest with a sharp object in December 2017 following a marital dispute with his wife. He died instantly.
“The case has been postponed to Monday September 27 for the court to determine whether to release the accused on bail as she is currently in detention following her conviction,” Senokoatsane said.
