ARTS OutWest is delighted to offer an exciting and unique opportunity for 15 regional visual artists to create works of art in response to a regional music album. While The World Waits is a compilation of 15 original tracks by musicians from the Central West. In response to the impacts of COVID-19 on the local music industry, Arts OutWest asked 15 songwriters from 11 local government areas in the region to each write a song reflecting their experiences of 2020. “The album is beautiful sound produced by professionals- capsule of this period of our lives, “said Tracey Callinan, executive director of Arts OutWest.” We are now inviting visual artists to respond to the same themes, taking inspiration from the music. “It is open to all emerging and established artists. While The World Waits Exhibition is an organized program in which 15 artists each respond to one of the tracks on the CD. Artists will have three months to produce a work. The first exhibition will be launched in February 2022 (location to be confirmed) and will visit several locations in the region. Arts OutWest is looking for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from visual artists living and working in government regions. cal from the Bathurst, Blayney, Cabonne, Cowra, Forbes, Lachlan, Lithgow, Mid-Western Regional, Oberon, Orange, Parkes and Weddin area. Entries are encouraged from artists working with the moving image to drawing and everything in between. Tell us a bit about your artistic practice. Show us who you are and what you do. Selected artists will receive a payment of $ 500 to help with materials and / or production costs.
